Ayesha Mohammed

Clinical Director

Ayesha is a Cape Malay ExMuslim in Australia with postgraduate qualifications in social work, education and counterterrorism, as well as a foundational degree in law. In 2021, she led the design of Free Hearts Free Minds’ Lifeline program.

After accidentally going viral on TikTok for openly discussing her apostasy in 2020, Ayesha went on to create a YouTube channel, where she critiques Islam and interviews ExMuslims around the globe. She is passionate about normalising religious dissent, fostering empathy and understanding between diverse religious perspectives, and contributing to a world where ExMuslims can find connection, support and belonging.

Ayesha brings extensive professional experience across the mental health, disability and policy development sectors. She employs a trauma-informed approach in her therapeutic work and is dedicated to designing culturally aware psychosocial support services, tailored to meet the unique needs of ExMuslims. Her work reflects a deep commitment to empowering those affected by religious trauma and promoting understanding within and beyond ExMuslim spaces.

To protect her identity online, Ayesha chooses to wear a facemask.
