When I was a child, my mother and I left Islam together. I don’t have many memories of the religion, but I’ve heard her heart-wrenching stories about it. I’ve always wished I could have protected her, and her strength has been a constant source of inspiration in my life.
Because of my mother's experiences, I knew early on that I wanted to protect children in some way. I became the assistant manager at a child care center, where I also took on administrative responsibilities.
I later transitioned into another administrative and educational role as a clerk for the Ministry of Education in Canada. Now, I am excited to bring my administrative expertise to Free Hearts Free Minds, an organization whose mission I deeply believe in.
